Effective Business Writing Skills
What you’ll learn:
This course teaches the participant how to deliver well-written readable content, engaging the reader with clear, strong sentences, clear messages, while avoiding common writing errors. When required, training in the use of company templates can be included. It is an intensive course, offering a thorough grounding on all areas of writing.
The course has three distinct sections:
- planning/pre-writing;
- writing;
- review/editing.
Who is the course for?
Every business and organisation communicates internally and with its stakeholders through its writing. It ties up a lot of time and energy and can produce overwritten, cluttered work. Employees at any level can benefit from this course. One-to-one training is offered for senior managers if required.
COURSE REQUIREMENTS
Participants must supply relevant samples of their business writing. If required, the trainer is happy to sign an NDA for all work supplied by participants.
HOW IS THE COURSE DELIVERED?
This course is delivered in person over 2 x 3 hour sessions OR one full day.
It can also be delivered live on Zoom.
Susan O'Keeffe
Trainer
Susan O’Keeffe has extensive experience of both attending and chairing meetings and the training reflects this real-life experience. She has worked as a print and radio journalist, TV producer and director, and five years as a senator. She prepares and edits many reports and speeches and offers training in speechwriting. She is an experienced professional writer, across all styles and options.
She also offers training in business and report writing and bespoke support and training for media appearances. She is also available for facilitating public consultations, team sessions and chairing meetings.
She has trained with a wide range of clients including: NTMA, Siemens, KBC, Heritage Council, Acorn Insurance, Liberty Insurance, Alone, ComReg, CCPC, Legal Aid Board, FBD, UCC, UCD, TCD, UL, DCU.
