This course takes place over 4 consecutive afternoons in 3 hour live sessions on Zoom, combined with video modules and practical assignments on our Teachable platform.

“Promote your Event like a Pro” is a practical interactive course, designed to help you become an effective and efficient promoter of your event, big or small.

It teaches you the practical skills to make good content, write a great press release, and get it out there to your target audience.

It’s run over 4x 3-hour live online sessions, live on Zoom, with interactive practical assignments, and pre-recorded video lessons. Access to the online lessons is available for a year after you complete the course.

On completion of this course, you will have the skills to make a short video for social media, write an effective press release, know how to circulate it, know how to do a media interview.

For this course, you will need a good smartphone, ideally an event to promote, and at least one social media channel up and running.

Module Two - The Media Interview

Lesson 2.1: Contact local/specialist/national media and prepare interview

Lesson 2.2: How to find your local media – print & broadcast, online.

Lesson 2.3: How to approach a journalist.

Lesson 2.4: Prepare your Media questions and main points.

Assignment 2.5: Draw up a contact list of journalists, including email list.

Assignment 2.6: Write 3 top questions and do briefing notes.

Module Three - The Video

Lesson 3.1: Why a short video matters.

Lesson 3.2: A 30-second promo video interview – how to.

Lesson 3.3: Essential equipment.

Assignment 3.4: Record and edit a 30 second promo video.

Assignment 3.5: Upload your video and add a link to your press release.

Module Four - The Promotion Plan
